AREAS WE SERVE · ROUND ROCK
Landscaping & landscape design
in Round Rock, TX.
Round Rock has everything from established neighborhoods with mature oaks to brand-new streets where the backyard is still bare sod and a fence.

Two kinds of yards
In older parts of town, and in established neighborhoods like Brushy Creek and Forest Creek, the job is usually a refresh: tired lawn, overgrown shrubs, a patio that's too small, and beds that stopped looking good years ago. In newer master-planned areas like Teravista, the yard often starts nearly empty. Either way, the work starts with a plan for how you want to use the space: where people gather, where shade is needed, and what you see from the back windows.
Soil on both sides of I-35
Round Rock sits right on the line where the Blackland Prairie meets the edge of the Hill Country. East of I-35 you'll often find deep, heavy clay that swells when wet and cracks in August. West of the highway, many yards have thin soil over limestone, sometimes only a few inches deep. Each needs a different approach. Clay beds get loosened, amended and raised where water sits. Rocky yards get planting pockets, gravel and stone that work with the ground instead of fighting it.
Plants that hold up here
For year-round structure we like cedar elm, live oak, Texas redbud and Mexican plum, with Texas sage, autumn sage, flame acanthus, Gulf muhly and red yucca in the beds. Agave and other succulents work well in sunny, well-drained gravel areas. Most of these handle summer heat and watering restrictions once they're established.
Working with HOA guidelines
Many Round Rock neighborhoods have an HOA with rules about front-yard planting, trees, fences and hardscape, and changes usually need association approval. We design with your current guidelines in mind so the plan is a good fit from the start.
Patios and outdoor living
Backyards here tend to be wide but not deep, so layout matters. A paver patio sized for a real table, a pergola placed to block the west sun and a clear path from the back door often do more than adding more lawn.

Common questions about landscaping in Round Rock
Do you work in both older and newer Round Rock neighborhoods?
Yes. We plan refreshes for established yards and full designs for newer homes with mostly empty backyards.
Does it matter which side of I-35 I live on?
Often, yes. East of I-35 many yards have deep clay that swells and cracks; west of it, soil is often only a few inches deep over limestone, so beds, plants and drainage are planned differently.
