Landscaping & landscape design
in Kyle, TX.
Kyle has grown from a small town on I-35 into one of the fastest-growing cities in Hays County, and most homes there are on newer streets with young yards.

Starting from builder sod
Many Kyle backyards begin as a rectangle of sod and a fence. Larger communities like Plum Creek and Hometown Kyle have more established streets with some mature trees, while newer subdivisions keep opening further out. In both cases, homeowners usually want the same things: shade, a patio, planting that looks finished, and a yard that doesn't need constant watering.
Clay soil and summer heat
Kyle sits mostly on Blackland Prairie clay, with rockier ground toward the west. Clay holds water after storms and cracks wide in a dry summer, which is hard on lawns and foundations alike. We loosen and amend beds, raise them where water stands, and grade so runoff moves away from the house.
Drought-tolerant native yards
Hays County summers are long and dry, and watering restrictions are common. A smaller, well-placed lawn with native beds around it holds up much better. We like cedar elm, chinquapin oak, desert willow and Texas redbud, with Texas sage, autumn sage, blackfoot daisy, Gulf muhly, red yucca and agave. Gravel and decomposed granite with steel edging finish the look and cut mowing.
Patios and paths
A paver patio off the back door, a clear walkway to the side gate and a shaded seating spot make a new backyard usable right away.
HOA neighborhoods
Most Kyle subdivisions have an HOA with rules on front-yard planting, trees and fences, and changes often need association approval. We design with your current guidelines in mind.

Common questions about landscaping in Kyle
Do you work in established Kyle neighborhoods too?
Yes. Along with newer builder-sod yards, we plan refreshes for more established streets in communities like Plum Creek and Hometown Kyle, where some trees are already mature.
How do I keep a Kyle yard looking good through a dry Hays County summer?
Shrink the lawn to a well-placed patch and surround it with drought-tolerant natives like desert willow, blackfoot daisy and Gulf muhly, in beds raised where the clay holds water.
