Landscape design
in Georgetown, TX.

Georgetown mixes a historic town square, Hill Country views and some of the biggest master-planned communities in Central Texas.

Master-planned communities

Neighborhoods like Wolf Ranch, along the San Gabriel River, and Sun City Texas, the large 55-and-over community, have their own amenities, their own character and their own rules. Many other Georgetown subdivisions do too. HOA guidelines often cover front-yard planting, trees, fences, hardscape and sometimes how much lawn you keep, and most changes need association approval. We design with your current guidelines in mind so the plan fits from the start.

Limestone close to the surface

Much of Georgetown sits on the edge of the Edwards Plateau, where the soil can be thin, rocky and alkaline over limestone. East of I-35 it turns into darker Blackland clay. On rocky lots we use raised beds, planting pockets, gravel and native stone instead of trying to dig a deep bed everywhere. On clay we loosen, amend and grade for drainage.

Plants for Georgetown yards

Live oak, cedar elm, Texas redbud and Mexican buckeye do well here, along with Texas sage, autumn sage, flame acanthus, Gulf muhly, damianita and agave. Many of these are deer-resistant, which matters in neighborhoods near open land and greenbelts.

Low-maintenance and easy-care yards

Plenty of Georgetown homeowners want a yard that looks good without weekly work. Gravel and decomposed granite beds, steel edging, a smaller lawn and well-chosen natives cut down on mowing and watering.

Patios and shade

A modern patio, a pergola for afternoon shade and a few clean paths can turn a plain backyard into a place you use every evening.

Common questions about landscaping in Georgetown

Do deer matter for a Georgetown yard?

In neighborhoods near greenbelts and open land they often do, so we lean on deer-resistant natives like Mexican buckeye, damianita, flame acanthus and agave.

What if my Georgetown yard is mostly limestone?

On the Edwards Plateau side of town the soil can be just inches deep, so we use raised beds, planting pockets, gravel and native stone. East of I-35, the darker clay needs loosening and drainage instead.
