Patios, pavers
& walkways.
Surfaces that connect the house, the garden and the places in between.

Paths people actually use
A walkway should follow the way people really move, from the driveway to the door, from the back porch to the gate. We plan routes around those everyday trips, then size them so two people can walk side by side where it matters and a single line of steppers is enough where it doesn't.
Patios sized for the furniture
A common mistake is a patio that looks generous on paper and fits one table once the chairs pull out. We lay out patios around what goes on them: a dining set, a grill, lounge chairs, a fire pit, and enough room to walk around them.
Built for clay soil
Clay soils swell when wet and shrink when dry, and that movement is what heaves pavers and cracks edges. The base and edge restraint underneath matter more than the paver on top, so that's where we put the care.
Materials with a local feel
Pavers, limestone, flagstone, steppers set in gravel or decomposed granite, river rock and steel edging. We like simple combinations that suit Central Texas houses and age well in the sun.
